HISTORIC CHORA WALK

Our walk begins after a short coach ride to the top of Skopelos Town, where we visit the remains of the Venetian Castle on the hilltop.

From there, we gradually make our way down through the winding cobbled streets, passing one of the last tavernas where traditional Rebetiko music can still be heard. We continue towards the church of Panagitsa, one of the many churches found in the town area, while enjoying panoramic views towards Alonissos and Palouki.

After a short stop for photographs, we continue through the charming streets of Chora, admiring the local architecture and learning about town life in both the past and present. Along the way, we pass several churches and stop by the house of Pavlos Nirvana, a local writer.

Passing through the commercial area, we take some time to sample local produce before continuing to the church of Faneromeni. The walk then continues through the traditional settlement and ends back in town.

Ιστορική Περιήγηση στη Χώρα της Σκοπέλου

Μετά από μια σύντομη διαδρομή με λεωφορείο, φτάνουμε στο πάνω μέρος της Χώρας, όπου ξεκινά η περιήγησή μας από τα απομεινάρια του Ενετικού Κάστρου.

Από εκεί, κατηφορίζουμε μέσα από τα στενά πλακόστρωτα δρομάκια, περνώντας από παραδοσιακά σημεία της πόλης και απολαμβάνοντας τη θέα προς την Αλόννησο και το Παλούκι.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της βόλτας, θα γνωρίσετε την ιστορία της Χώρας, την τοπική αρχιτεκτονική και στοιχεία από την καθημερινή ζωή στη Σκόπελο, παλιά και σήμερα. Στη διαδρομή περνάμε από εκκλησίες, σημεία ενδιαφέροντος και το σπίτι του Παύλου Νιρβάνα, τοπικού συγγραφέα.

Στη συνέχεια περνάμε από την εμπορική περιοχή, όπου υπάρχει χρόνος για δοκιμή τοπικών προϊόντων, και συνεχίζουμε προς την εκκλησία της Φανερωμένης. Η περιήγηση ολοκληρώνεται ξανά στην πόλη.
